We are excited to share that our Inner Portico Project at St Paul’s Cathedral has triumphed as the recipient of the esteemed 2023 UIA Friendly and Inclusive Spaces Award! Building upon our recent recognition at the ECA – Excellence in Electrotechnical and Engineering Services awards, where we were honoured with the distinguished “Highly Commended” accolade in the UK, this latest international distinction further emphasises the global significance of our remarkable achievements.
The inner portico, a new entrance to the cathedral, is dedicated to remembering those lost during the COVID-19 pandemic. Made of British Oak, it stands as an elliptical structure symbolising resilience and hope. Remarkably, this marks the first new entrance built inside St Paul’s in 150 years. It is a testament to the cathedral’s enduring legacy following the damage suffered during World War II.
We are immensely proud of our contribution to this project, particularly in the electrical execution of the inner portico. We are also proud to have partnered with Sir Robert McAlpine, a leading construction company with a long history of innovation and excellence. We are grateful for their partnership and their commitment to making the inner portico a reality.
We extend special recognition to Rob Woodrow, a key member of our team who played a vital role in the successful implementation of the project. Rob’s expertise and dedication were essential to the project’s success.
This prestigious international accolade reinforces our unwavering commitment to fostering innovation, embracing inclusivity, and making a profound impact within the realm of electrical engineering.
