Building Bonds Beyond the Build: A Day with Beard Construction

Delivering Sustainability on Site, Not Just in Strategy

Building Bonds Beyond the Build:

A Day with Beard Construction

We’ve always believed that great relationships are the foundation of great projects. And last week’s Beard Summer Party was the perfect reminder that collaboration doesn’t stop at the site gates, it thrives in moments of connection, camaraderie, and shared values.

Our team was proud to attend the event, joining Beard’s staff and supply chain partners for a day of friendly competition, laughter, and genuine conversation. From cheering on teammates to chatting with familiar faces and new ones alike, it was a fantastic opportunity to engage with the people behind the projects we’re so proud to deliver.

We were especially proud to support the event’s charitable cause, raising funds for Beard’s initiative to bring sport to disadvantaged children across Oxfordshire. It’s always a privilege to take part in something that has a positive ripple effect beyond the industry.

More Than Just a Day Out

Events like this may look like a bit of summer fun (and they are), but they represent something far more meaningful for us:

  • Trust and Transparency: Relationships built in informal settings translate into stronger collaboration on-site.
  • Team Connection: These moments build pride and unity across our team, the same values we bring to every project.

Putting Social Value into Practice

These kinds of events aren’t just good fun, they’re part of what social value really looks like in practice. By taking part in Beard’s Summer Party, we’re not only supporting the wellbeing of our own team, but actively engaging in a culture that values people, relationships, and shared experiences.

We also had the opportunity to speak with Rachel Bird during the day, discussing how West & West can collaborate more closely with Beard on future social value initiatives, something we’re really excited about. As a company that takes pride in giving back, whether through charity support, apprenticeships, or community engagement, we’re always looking for ways to align our efforts with those of our clients.

Thank You, Beard

To the team atBeard– thank you for hosting such a fantastic event and for creating space for real connection beyond the day-to-day. We’re proud to work alongside you and look forward to many more shared successes, both on site and in the communities we serve.

Looking Ahead

As the construction industry continues to evolve, the role of the electrical contractor will only become more critical in achieving net zero goals.

We are committed to staying at the forefront of that change, combining technical expertise with practical delivery to create buildings that perform better, for longer.
