West & West were given the great privilege in completing the full M&E design and fit-out to a new build equestrian training facility.

One of the design solutions we provided for this project was subtle yet effective external lighting, installed to help minimise light pollution. Due to the buildings exposed position within a valley, we still had to provide adequate lighting levels around the entire perimeter.

Lighting isn’t just lighting when it comes to horses – it affects both their mental and physical well-being. In short, good barn lighting and riding hall lighting in combination with a good light level and correct lighting regime contributes to:
– more active and healthier horses
– possibilities for better visual contact
– improved fertility
– less thick winter coat
– no ‘light circles’ in riding halls
