Project Overview:
A historic building, formerly a restaurant, was transformed into a vibrant new wine restaurant, bar, and shop featuring an open-plan kitchen, conservatory, café, retail area, bar, restaurant, and private dining room. The venue opened in May 2021 as part of a growing hospitality concept by its owner.

THE SOLUTION
Appointed by main contractor Stonewood Builders, West & West began by validating the building’s electrical system before refurbishment. The existing wiring, over 40 years old and extensively modified, was found unsafe and condemned following inspection and testing.
West & West then completed a full electrical rewire across the three-storey property under a strict programme to meet the opening deadline. A key challenge was delivering the electrical installation for the open-plan kitchen within just one week to align with the wider fit-out schedule.
Alongside the rewire, the team installed the air conditioning system and collaborated closely with interior designers to ensure the lighting scheme was delivered efficiently and matched the design vision.

THE OUTCOME
With additional labour, weekend working, and proactive communication across all teams, the project was successfully completed within the tight timescale. Site Manager Lee Jameson and fourth-year apprentice Patrick Hudson played vital roles in maintaining high standards throughout.
West & West delivered a safe, compliant, and fully operational electrical infrastructure that supports the venue’s vibrant hospitality experience.
